TNA Knockout Angelina Love

TNA Knockout, Angelina Love

TNA Knockout Angelina Love was born Lauren Williams on September 13th, 1981 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Yes another beautiful Canadian female wrestler.
Like most of the TNA Knockouts, Angelina knew how to wrestle when she hit the ring there.

Angelina started out in the independent wrestling promotions in Canada back in 2000.
She started out as a valet for wrestlers like Chris Sabin and Eric Young (who she would work with later in TNA) and finally she began to train under Rob Fuego to become a wrestler.
Rob has trained many wrestlers, and he runs the famous Squared Circle Training, one of Ontario's major pro wrestling schools.

Angela actually wrestled for TNA long before she actually joined the company.
As Angel Williams, she wrestled on TNA Xplosion against another of my favorites, Trinity.

Angelina was working for various independent wrestling promotions around the US when the major pro wrestling organization in the US (That used to be called WWF) noticed her and gave her a tryout.
She did well and was trained at Ohio Valley Wrestling before being assigned to Deep South Wrestling as Angela Williams.
There she started out as a manager and in her first actual match in DSW, she defeated another OVW trainee you may have heard of, Michelle McCool.

Angelina was hurt in a match in DSW, and later had to undergo surgery for a torn ACL.
After seven months of rehab, she returned to DSW and started managing The Gymini (Mike and Todd Shane).
When The Gymini were released from their contracts in January 2007, Angelina started a feud with the General Manager of DSW (and another indy wrestler) Krissy Vaine.
The feud didn't last long, and the outcome was Angelina actually joining Krissy and becoming co-manager of DSW.

Deep South Wrestling shut down on April 18, 2007, and Angelina was moved to Ohio Valley Wrestling.
She had one match there before being released.

After her release there, she went to Mexico (as many Canadian female wrestlers do) and wrestled briefly for Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) as Canadian Angel.
During that time she still wrestled for Indy promotions across North America.

Angelina re-joined TNA in 2007, appearing in their 10 Knockout Gauntlet match at the TNA PPV, Bound for Glory.

Soon after Angelina formed a tag team with fellow TNA knockout Velvet Sky (Jamie Szantyr) and called themselves The Beautiful People.
Well, actually they started out as Velvet-Love Entertainment and were good guys.
They even ran in and saved Gail Kim twice before finally going to the dark side and becoming villains on the March 13 edition of TNA Impact!

Angelina finally got her chance for gold on April 19, 2009 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at Lockdown in a three way match with Awesome Kong (the then champion) and Taylor Wilde.
During the match, Angelina suffered one of two concussions she has gotten in less than a year.

Angelina went on to defend her TNA Knockouts championship until the July 9, 2009 edition of Impact!, when she lost her title to Tara (Victoria).

On Pro Wrestling Illustrated's PWI Female 50, Angelina was rated the 16th best female wrestler of 2008.

UPDATE: Angelina has been released from TNA for working on an expired work visa.

UPDATE: Angelina got her work visa straightened out, and went back to work for TNA on January 14th, 2010.
