Swimwear 2010 - The Top Ten Swimsuit Brands

Now that winter has passed and summer is almost here (or here in some places) I thought I would take a look at the top ten swimwear companies online.
Of course online shopping is really popular; although I do wonder about not being able to try them on like you would in a store, but to each her own.
So here, in order, are the top ten most popular swimsuit companies that you can shop online, and a little about each one of them.
Starting with....

The most popular swimsuit company I ran across online is MiracleSuit.
Now MiracleSuit makes a pretty impressive claim.
They say that wearing one of their swimsuits will make you look 10 pounds lighter.
Ain't technology great?
The suits are designed with a special fabric that pulls and redistributes weight rather than having panels and girdles that might get uncomfortable.
The site is well laid out, but checking out products can be a little annoying because my cursor kept jumping when I was trying to see one specific swimsuit.
And another thing is you can’t actually buy the swimwear through the site.
But by clicking "Shop Now" they give you a list of links were you can purchase the products and catalogs where you can purchase the suits.

The next most popular swimsuit brand I found was Longitude Swimsuits.
Again, you don’t purchase through the site, but the best retailer for them seems to be swimsuitsforall.com.
And Longitude comes in sizes 8-16 and plus size swimwear 18 - 24W.
To me, the site is a lot easier to navigate than MiracleSuits, but it is a retailer, not a company site.

Next up is Shoshanna Swimwear.
Shoshanna Swimwear was created in 2001 by designer Shoshanna Gruss.
Like MiracleSuit, this is a company site, but clicking on the "Where to buy" link will give you a set of links showing where you can purchase the suits.
Navigation is a little better than MiracleSuit, and they give you a better shot of their products.

This is another company site, and I think the navigation may be a bit trickier than MiracleSuit.
It seems to be more artsy rather than buyer friendly, so my best advice is that if you want to actually see the collections, hit a site like
South Beach Swimsuits go to the navigation bar and type in Gottex.

Here is another brand that you best bet is to hit a sellers site.
When I searched for the brand, the number one site I got was again, South Beach Swimsuits, so I'd give them a try if you want to see the collections.

Okay, Tyr swimsuits are a whole 'nother animal.
This isn’t swimwear to lay around the pool in and get attention, these are swimsuits that you wear when you wanna get in the pool and earn attention.
Yes, this is competition swimwear like Olympic swimmers and divers wear.
They also make workout bikinis and Triathlon gear.
You're not gonna see any lace and ruffles here.

Vix swimwear is a personal favorite.
I think they have some of the best looking swimwear out of all of them.
They site is really easy to navigate and they carry bikinis, one pieces, cover ups, dresses and more.
I noticed while I was there that some of their suits go from S to XL, but not every style does that, so you may have to look around abit.

Another brand that you have to go to a seller’s site for is Leilani Swimwear.
The first site I found that carries the brand was ShopStyle.com.
BUT, be warned that when you click on a link, it re-directs you to Dillard's.

Another graphically heavy site, but with beautiful photography is Jets Swimwear.
The bad thing about the site (to me at least) is to order or even look at a catalog, you have to register on the site.
Okay I understand having to register to order one; they have to know where to send it.
But registering to even look at the online catalog seems a bit much to me.

But, you can go over to Trixan Body and see the whole collection without doing anything.

And last but not least is Becca Swimwear.
This site seems to strike the balance between artsy and customer friendly.
Again, you don’t buy directly through the site, but clicking on "Where to buy" gives you a store locator.
