Indian Film Actresses 7 - Bollywood and More

Now we are all the way up to number seven, and this Hub is brought to you by the letter K!
Besides being full of Ks, this Hub also has some of Indian cinema's biggest actresses.
We have the usual actresses, models, and at least one member of Royalty.
And we also have a couple of links so that you can watch some of their movies online.

Last time we ended with Kareena Kapoor, so lets pick up this time with her sister Karisma Kapoor.
Karisma was born on June 25th, 1974 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, making her Kareena's older sister.
She made her acting debut in the 1991 film Prem Qaidi and has appeared in more than sixty films so far.
After taking a break from acting in 2003, Karisma returned in the 2006 film, Mere Jeevan Saathi.

Indian film actress Karthika Nair made her film debut in the 2009 Telugu film, Josh.
So far that's her only film, but it made Karthika very popular.
Like many other Indian cinema stars, acting is in her blood.
Her mother Radha was a very popular Telugu actress in the 80s and 90s, appearing in well over 60 Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi films.
Karthika has two films set for release in 2010, the Malayalam film Makaramanju, and the Tamil film Ko.

Another actress I have done a lot of entries on the the lovely Katrina Kaif.
I've written so much about her, I don't know what to add here.

Kausalya (or Nandini) was born on December 30, 1978 in Bangalore, India.
She made her acting debut in the 1995 Malayalam film Surya Kalyanam, and has gone on to appear in over thirty Tamil and Malayalam  films.

Malayalam film actress Kavya Madhavan was born on September 19, 1984 in Nileshwaram, Kerala, India.
She made her acting debut at the age of seven in the film Pookalam Varavayi.
Since then she has gone on to appear in over forty films and has racked up an impressive list of awards.

Kim Sharma is a Bollywood actress and model, born on January 21st, 1980 in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, India.
She started out modeling, and made her acting debut in the 2000 Bollywood film, Mohabbatein.
Kim has gone on to appear in over twenty films, but so far, Mohabbatein has been her biggest hit.

Former Indian actress and model Kimi Katkar was born on December 11, 1965 in Mumbai, India.
If you have seen the "Indian Superman" video on YouTube, that's Kimi dressed up as "Spiderwoman".
She made her acting debut in the Adventures of Tarzan in 1985.
Kimi was active till 1992, her last film being Humlaa.
BUT, there is a possibility that Kimi may return to the screen.
It's rumored that she may appear in the film adaptation of Gregory David Roberts' book, Shantaram, with possibly Amitabh Bachchan and Johnny Depp.

Kiran Rathod is not only an actress, but also part of a a rajput royal family in Rajasthan.
So I think that's our first member of royalty in this series.
She has appeared in over thirty Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi films.

Another Indian actress that started out as a model is Koena Mitra.
Koena was born on January 7th, 1981 in Calcutta, West Bengal, India.
She started modeling while she was in college and won the Gladrags Mega Model 2002. She then went on to become a semi-finalist in the Miss Intercontinental pageant.
Koena made her acting debut in the 2002 Hindi movie, Road.
Road is supposed to be a remake of the 1971 Hollywood film Duel, but it sounds more like a remake of the 1986 film, The Hitcher.
She has gone on to appear in fourteen films.

Konkona Sen Sharma was born on December 3, 1979 in New Delhi, India.
Konkona is another actress with acting in her blood.
Her mother is Indian filmmaker, script writer, and actress Aparna Sen, her grandfather is Bengali Indian filmmaker, film critic, film historian and one of the founders of Calcutta Film Society, Chidananda Dasgupta and she is distantly related to famous Bengali poet, Jibanananda Das.
She made her acting debut at the age of four (yes four) in the 1983 film Indira.
Konkona has gone on to appear in twenty five films, with eight more set for a 2010 release.

Indian actress, television hostess and producer Kushboo Khan-Sundar was born on September 19, 1970 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
Another actress with an early start, she made her acting debut in the 1980 film Thodisi Bewafaii at the age of ten.
Kushboo went on to appear in over ninety Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, and Malayalam movies.
Besides films, she is popular for her TV show Jackpot.
